Jannu climbed in the alpine style!
One of the world's most challenging alpine climbing problems - the 2,700-meter north face of Mount Jannu at 7,710 meters in the eastern Himalayas.

Americans Alan Rousseau, Jackson Marvell, Matt Cornell made a fantastic ascent.
The story of this is quite extensive. There was once a team led by Ukrainian Igor Chaplynsky. And a year later, Russians passed it in a difficult Himalayan siege style.

And finally, mega-alpinism triumphed!
A small team. Without oxygen. Without fixing ropes on the wall. Without high-altitude porters and external assistance.
It's always great to root for such achievements!

We asked Misha Fomin, what sets this ascent apart from the nominees for the Golden Ice Axe this year?
And the answer is simple: it's not a slope, it's a wall. Jannu is a visionary ascent, it opens the doors to a slightly different dimension!
