You have probably heard of the Way of St. James, a pilgrimage and tourist walking route that stretches across Europe to the Spanish town of Santiago de Compostela.

But did you know that part of the Camino de Santiago is located in Ukraine?

This route passes through the picturesque regions of Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi. It is known as the Camino Podolico. The total length of the route is currently 252 km. In its first part, travelers can walk along the scenic banks of the Southern Bug and Riv rivers, while in the second part, they can approach the Tovtry.

Along the way, travelers will encounter not only natural attractions but also many cultural and historical landmarks. Ancient castles, palaces, churches, and museums await. The route is marked with signs, and there are designated places for overnight stays. There is also an electronic track and a guidebook for the route.

The history of the Camino Podolico began in 2021. One of the project's inspirational founders is journalist and traveler Maksym Bespalov. He walked the European Way of St. James more than 20 times and wrote a book about his journeys.

In 2024, after a two-year break, the season for walking the Podolsk Way of St. James was officially reopened. This year, the route is planned to be expanded, and alternative branches are expected to appear.
