In southern Ukraine, on the shores of the Black Sea, a unique school of sports tourism and mountaineering has been developing for more than six decades. At its center is the Romantik Tourist Club (Odesa) — one of the oldest continuously operating non-profit tourism communities in the country.

For Fram-Equipment, partnering with the Romantik club means supporting a living tradition of Ukrainian outdoor culture, where generations of travelers, athletes, and mountain leaders are formed.

“Romantik” — More Than a Club

Founded in 1957 at the Odesa Polytechnic Institute, the Romantik club has become a true school of sports tourism. It is a self-governing community that has been developing a culture of autonomous trekking and mountaineering for decades.

Its activities cover the full training cycle for outdoor enthusiasts:

  • basic schools for beginners combining theory and practice;

  • technical training on local terrain and rock formations;

  • graded trekking expeditions of varying difficulty, from entry level to the highest categories;

  • participation in sports tourism and mountaineering competitions.

Club members progress from their first experience in the mountains to independently leading complex autonomous expeditions in mountain ranges around the world.

The Phenomenon of the Odesa School of Tourism

“Romantik” is not only about sport but also about community culture. The club preserves a unique self-governance model based on volunteerism, knowledge transfer, and strong internal responsibility among participants.

It builds a distinctive approach to the mountains:

  • discipline and technical competence;

  • respect for autonomous expeditions;

  • development of leadership skills in demanding environments;

  • preservation of sports-oriented tourism without commercial simplification.

That is why club graduates often become not only strong outdoor enthusiasts but also leaders in their professional and personal lives.

Fram-Equipment’s Role

Fram-Equipment supports the Romantik Tourist Club as a partner of sporting events and competitions, providing high-quality gear for participants and winners.

For us, this partnership represents support for an environment that builds a culture of responsibility toward mountains, sport, and teamwork.

We see how the Odesa school of tourism brings together people of different ages and experience, helping them tackle challenging routes, build endurance, and discover the true essence of autonomous expeditions.

A Partnership That Preserves Tradition

Today, Romantik remains one of the key centers of Ukrainian sports tourism and mountaineering. Its work continues to shape new generations of travelers for whom the mountains are not entertainment, but a path of growth and responsibility.

Fram-Equipment is proud to be part of this story and intends to continue supporting the development of the Odesa school of sports tourism and its initiatives.

Because true outdoor culture is not only about equipment. It is about communities that consistently uphold high standards and pass experience forward.
